Privacy Policy

Effective 15 September 2026. Applies to Tithipatra for iPhone, iPad and Android.

Tithipatra is a Nepali calendar and panchanga. It is made by Teispace Technology Private Limited ("Teispace", "we"). This policy says what the app does with information about you. The short version: the app has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and what you choose stays on your device.

What stays on your device

The app keeps these on your phone or tablet, in its own storage:

  • your settings: language, numbers, leading calendar, calculation method, theme, text size, time format, haptics, which app icon you chose, the day the week starts on, and what reminders and notifications you turned on;
  • the place you chose, and up to five places you chose before it;
  • the reminders you added, with any name and note you gave them, and their alert times;
  • the cities you added to World clocks;
  • whether you have finished the first-run setup, and when the app last asked you to rate it.

They are not sent to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes them.

Location

The app asks for your location only when you tap Use my location. It uses it to work out sunrise, tithi times and the day's timings for where you are.

  • The position is rounded to about 11 metres and stored on your device as your place.
  • The app does not track your location or use it in the background.
  • To show the temperature and the air quality on Today, the app sends your place, rounded to about a kilometre, to the weather and air quality services described below. It sends nothing else about you.
  • You can choose a city from the list instead, and you can turn location off for Tithipatra in your device's settings at any time.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, usage analytics or crash reports. The app contains no advertising or analytics software.

When the app uses the internet

The calendar, panchanga and tools work entirely offline. The app connects to the internet for these, and nothing it sends identifies you:

  • Exchange rates. The app asks Nepal Rastra Bank's public forex service (nrb.org.np) for the day's rates and, in the Exchange rates tool, a currency's last 30 days. The request contains only the dates asked for; the currency is chosen on your device. What you type into the remittance calculator stays on your device.
  • Gold and silver prices. The app asks the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (fenegosida.org) for the day's prices and those of recent days. The request contains only the dates asked for.
  • Fuel prices. The app reads Nepal Oil Corporation's public price page (noc.org.np) for the current prices and recent changes. The request contains nothing about you; the depot you choose is kept on your device.
  • Weather. The app asks Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) for the forecast at your place — the conditions now, the hours ahead and the days ahead — sending its latitude and longitude rounded to about a kilometre, and nothing else. Looking up another place on the weather screen sends that place's coordinates, rounded the same way. Open-Meteo has its own privacy policy at open-meteo.com.
  • Air quality. The app asks Open-Meteo's air quality service (air-quality-api.open-meteo.com) for the current air quality at your place, sending the same rounded latitude and longitude as for the weather, and nothing else.
  • Links you open, such as this policy on our website, or the App Store or Google Play page when you rate the app. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
  • Email you send us from Report a problem or Send feedback. Your email app shows the message before it is sent, including any device details (model, system version, app version), which you can remove. We use what you send only to reply and to fix problems.

As with any connection, these services see your device's IP address when the app contacts them. The rates, prices, temperature and air quality are kept on your device so they can be shown offline; they are not sent to us.

Children

The app is suitable for everyone and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

We will update this policy when the app changes what it does with information, and show the new effective date at the top. The current version is always in the app, under Settings → About → Privacy Policy, and at tithipatra.com/privacy.
